Spielbeschreibung

Cool Columns is a fairly straightforward Columns variant that uses the Allegro library and thus offers some nice visual effects. The basic rules are unaltered: sets of three tiles fall from the top of the screen, and the player must arrange three or more tiles of the same type into horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines to make them disappear. You lose if there is no more space on the playing field for new tiles to occupy.

In this variant, the tiles are animated by default, which actually makes playing a bit harder, since especially the blue tiles become almost invisible in some animation frames. However, these animations can be turned off, and a different set of more plain-looking tiles can be also selected instead.

Cool Columns was released as freeware by its author.
