Spielbeschreibung

Death Taxi 3000 is an arcade taxi cab simulator loosely based on Quarantine. The player is a taxi driver in what looks like a dystopian-ish city, earning just enough to get by from taking rides.

You drive the car by steering it with the arrow keys, old school style. To pick a ride, you need to park right over the glowing rectangle. The compass arrow at the top of the screen will direct to the pickup site, and once the passenger is in, it will point towards the destination. You can use the money earned to refuel and upgrade the cab in the garage.

The game offers two game modes, Arcade and Career. Only the arcade mode is available in the unregistered shareware version, allowing to drive in sandbox mode for either two or three minutes.

Unlike Quarantine, and contrary to what the game title might suggest, there is no violence in Death Taxi 3000, no weapons or enemies, so at the end of the day it is a fun and rather relaxing experience.

The paid version of Death Taxi 3000 runs natively on Windows and Linux, but also includes the vintage DOS version, which can be played in DOSBox or on actual period hardware.
