Spielbeschreibung
Electronic Popple is a nice little cartoon-style side-scrolling beat-'em up that takes place inside a computer, somehow. The player controls a CPU or a CPU fan, and fights against hordes or other computer parts (all complete with Rayman-style hands and feet that are just not attached to anything and float in the air). There's a storyline somewhere in there, and the game will periodically pause for cutscenes with comic-book speech balloon dialogue, but otherwise it's just pure action that might seem harmless, but can be quite challenging anyway.
Unlike many other beat-'em-ups, this one allows the player to more or less freely explore the levels, bringing in a heavier emphasis on platforming and non-linear progression. There's a multitude of various powerups that may be found among the scenery or collected from defeated enemies, also adding a tactical element and even a slight touch of Metroidvania.
Electronic Popple was sold commercially in South Korea, Japan and also in the West. The playable demo includes a portion of the full version's levels and may provide a good distraction, because it's a really well-made game that is fairly forgiving to casual players.
