Spielbeschreibung
Parsifal is a fantasy turn-based tactical game that has the player conduct battles against superior foes. Each turn, the player can move only one unit, and so does the computer-conrolled enemy side, and then also the neutral creatures that roam the map. There are no hit points, and any unprotected unit hit by enemy attack will immediately perish. The player may find gold and treasure on the map to purchase additional troops.
There is a good variety of unit types, ranging from foot soldiers and bowmen to wizards and dragons. A good balance is required to muster an efficient fighting force, so it is highly recommended to read the in-game instructions to get a better understanding of what you're doing. A further layer of depth and complexity is added by the day/night cycle and the passage of seasons, both of which affect the playing field and unit behaviour.
Parsifal was originally sold as shareware, with only the basic scenario in the unregistered version, telling the tale of Lord Parsifal's fight against the Accursed Archon in an effort to recover the Holographic Grail. The registered Collector's Edition adds four more scenarios of higher difficulty. Author Mark Cassidy has generously declared the game freeware, and the Collector's Edition is now available for download.
