Spielbeschreibung

Word Games at Camelot is an educational game that supposedly helps kids develop their vocabulary skills. It is obviously based on Last Knight at Camelot, an arcade hop-and-bop platformer, with the same premise, the same main character and the same levels. However, every now and then the player will encounter a new character that looks like a mediaeval executioner, who will give word quizzes that you need to pass to progress further.

Each quiz has two types of tasks: match a word to its meaning and fill in a gap in a sentence. You can choose to focus on nouns, adjectives and verbs, and pick a difficulty level ranging from extremely easy to rather challenging, which requires knowledge of low-frequency, rare words in the English vocabulary. A quiz can be taken outside of actually playing the rest of the game, which involves a knight hopping around in full armour and collecting heraldry (see Last Knight at Camelot).

Word Games at Camelot was sold as shareware, but whether it was successful in helping English teachers remains a mystery.
