Spielbeschreibung

Boulder Smash is a freeware Boulder Dash variant with a few advanced features. Initially conceived as a multiplayer remake, it evolved into a school project aimed at creating a fully-featured game with low system requirements.

The game features optional high-resolution graphics and extra gameplay features that include primary and secondary weapons which can be used by the player to defeat the roaming enemies. It can also be played in text mode on slowest machines.

Boulder Smash is playable, but it was never completed, with the latest release still in the beta stage. The game includes a number of levels and will probably only appeal to fans of the original Boulder Dash, for the difficulty is not light and gameplay does not feel immediately accessible or rewarding. Still, for a freeware game, it makes a favourable impression because of nice visuals and sound effects.
