Spielbeschreibung
Descent to Undermountain is a fantasy role-playing game (RPG) set in the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons universe, which runs on the Descent engine. The player takes on the role of a brave adventurer exploring the dungeons beneath the city of Waterdeep, and eventually uncovering the secrets of the Undermountain.
The game plays similar to other first-person action RPGs like The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall or Amulets & Armor. The dungeons are rendered in full 3D, and you have various medieval weapons at your disposal, as well as spells if you choose a spellcasting character. The player character slowly gains experience that allows to level up, and may also buy better equipment with gold coins found during travels.
Interplay released a very early playable demo of the game, which was included on a Computer Gaming world magazine coverdisk. The demo allows to play as a human warrior and has notable differences from the final game. It is also visibly incomplete, with many sound effects missing, and has occasional bugs and glitches.
